The secret of contentment is knowing how to enjoy what you have, and to be able to lose all desire for things beyond your reach.

  1. Hi Laura,
I've enjoyed reading through some of your posts here. I noticed that you have interest in history and it seems particularly American history. Something I've always been interested in, too.
And then I see you have "Follow the River" on your book favorites. My all-time favorite. I read this when I was in high school and I could not put it down! Since then I have read it many times and seen the movie (not as good as the book).
    Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

  2. Lisa,
Thank you for stopping by! I enjoyed your comments so much! Yes, "Follow the River" is an incredible book. My husband gave me the movie last Christmas and you are right - it is not as good as the novel. Although I could never claim to be the writer James Thom is, you might like my book about a frontiersman's daughter due to be released next summer. By the way, I wrote Mr. Thom not long ago and told him how much his writing has impacted me (particularly "FTR") and he was very gracious in his reply. I also loved his "Long Knife" about George Rogers Clark.
Anyway, thank you again and hope you have a holiday filled with blessings!
