What if you'd written the book of your heart, finaled in the 2009 Genesis contest, was on the verge of publication with two publishers, and decided not to pursue that path, after all? Amazing, huh? Then you must meet Cathy Bryant. When I first heard Cathy's story and learned of her book, Texas Roads, I was very intrigued. Her novel is now available as an e-book and she's busy writing another.
Today I'm Cathy's guest over at her Word Vessel blog. But this isn't about me, it's really about Cathy. I was so moved by her blog post on 12/21/2009 entitled Writing for Him (Novel Update) that I contacted her and told her so. She has a wonderful ministry that really is all about Him and promoting His truth through Christian fiction. She interviews authors and has book giveaways nearly every day.
If you have a few minutes, please stop by and meet Cathy and read her inspiring story. It's what good novels are made of!

Great interview, Laura!
ReplyDeleteCarla, You're so very busy. Thanks for stopping by Cathy's blog and reading! I sure do appreciate it. She is such a special person and is living my dream (well, one of them) - residing in a 100 year old Texas farmhouse surrounded with flowers:)
ReplyDeleteHi, Laura & Cathy! You are two very special ladies, sharing your faith and storytelling talent with your lucky readers. I continue to sing the praises of "The Frontiersman's Daughter". Lael Click is an amazing young woman, and her story is unforgettable! I have read chapters of "Texas Roads", and I highly recommend Cathy's book! The character of "Steve" is so well-written and realistic. He's a "human" being and a man of strong faith! Brava, ladies!
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun to read your interview, Laura. Can we do one on my blog when I give away a copy of CLM?
ReplyDeleteYour responses in the interview reveal that you have so much grace and understanding and humility, about your own writing journey and what others may be experiencing as well. You are a jewel.
Virginia, I'm always so pleased when you pop in! Here or at Cathy's blog:) I can't wait to read Texas Roads. I've only been able to get to the first chapter and am hooked! Glad I have such good reading/writing friends like you and Cathy!
ReplyDeleteMary, Oh I'd soooo love to be a guest on your blog! Would love to give a book away when CML rolls round:)
ReplyDeleteAnd if you recognize any grace or merit in me it's because you have it within yourself, dear Mary:) We have the same Source!
