Congratulations Nancy!!
ReplyDeleteLaura, once again another dress I'd run in heels for ;)
Praying you have a beautiful, refreshing retreat my friend!! You deserve it :)
Blessings,
Amanda Stanley
Laura, Have a great trip. I apologize I haven't put my Morrow review up yet. I kind of feel led to keep my current post up top for a bit longer.
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteBless you for being so celebratory for Nancy:) She lives way down south and I so love mailing books to the south!
Wish I could take you reading friends with me on retreat but guess we'd end up talking and laughing so much we wouldn't get much praying done:)Or anything else!
See you Monday, dear friend. Hope your weekend is extra blessed!
Thanks so much, Julia. I so rarely get away that this is an extra blessing. And please don't give another thought to posting a review - I haven't even thought about it! I don't ever expect them so anytime they come is a big blessing to me.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I was so impressed by your most recent blog post. I stopped by and was going to comment and then saw how many comments you had and didn't think I could add much so didn't this time. I think you have a real ministry there! Bless you for being so real/honest/encouraging, etc.
You are truly a light!
Oh Amanda, I meant to say that this is a ballgown from the 18th-century (of course!) and is one of my favorites:) And I'd be running right along with you!
ReplyDeleteI will imagine you writing in that gown in some picturesque location ;) enjoy your time away! I'll be crossing my fingers for the giveaway!~
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Nancy - you will absolutely LOVE Morrow!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful retreat, Laura - may it be productive for you as a writer, and renewing for you as a Christian.
Hugs!
Heather,
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect comment:) When you see where I'm headed you'll know why the gown is perfect!
Crossing my fingers for you in the giveaway ~ see you Sunday!
Have a wonderful RESTFUL retreat,Laura! I had mine in my flower garden reading CML;now it's your turn.Maybe you can squeeze in a good book? You have become such a blessing in my life!! Have a safe trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura. There's something I'm meant to do I think ministry wise, but I don't know what that is yet...if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Nancy!!
ReplyDeleteLove the gown in the photo, it's so pretty.
Laura, I pray you have a wonderful retreat, and that you come back feeling refreshed with many exciting ideas.
Regina, Such gracious words. Bless you for loving Morrow so much! That means a whole lot coming from a librarian! The only thing that would make this trip better is if I could come to Kentucky, see you, and swing by Panera Bread:) Sigh. It's very cold here and foggy - we've only had one 70 degree day since last September. Brrr. Enjoy that Kentucky sun for me!
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of you reading CML in your flower garden. Somehow the two just go together! Thanks for the reminder to take a good book ~ I have Ransome's Crossing and She Walks in Beauty yet to read. Hope He delights your heart this weekend, Diana! You always delight mine with your gracious comments:)
Julia,
ReplyDeleteYes, you do have something ministry-wise ahead of you:) Your comment made me think of a beloved verse:
Now the God of peace...equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. ~Hebrews 13:21
My footnote says that God will "equip you and prepare you by means of adjusting, shaping, mending, restoring or preparing."
Aren't those beautiful words? But not mere words ~ a promise He will keep for you.
Thanks so much, Michelle. I really hope this time away does just what you said here and I return with many exciting ideas. Love that:) Happy Friday to you ~ hope you have a stellar book waiting! And maybe some pasta - or at least a drive-by at Bella Nottes! They need a take-out window:)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the encouragement, as always, Laura. I'm going to write that verse down. I hope you have a wonderful vacation, I'm waiting to find out if you're going to one of my favorite places ;)
ReplyDeleteOh congrats, I just finished Morrow and LOVED it, but I think you already know that. :)
ReplyDeleteCasey,
ReplyDeleteOH, I was so hoping! But I can't hear it enough:) If my books past muster with you young writers who study the craft so seriously and are hard at work on your own manuscripts, then I am one happy author:) Bless you so much! That's the perfect send-off for my little jaunt this weekend! See you Monday!
You know I've driven by Bella Notte countless times, and Tuesday was the first time I've ever smelled it from the road. Guess that was my reward for needing to take the long way home.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend will be spent watching the Horatio Hornblower movies, which I have never watched before. I'm going to pick them up from the library after work.
Have a wonderful weekend! "See" you on Monday!
Congratulations to Nancy for sure. Lucky woman, she get's to experience Morrow for the first time.
ReplyDeleteYour retreat weekend sounds divine. I think I'll have my own mini one at home. :-)
That is a beautiful dress!
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle,
ReplyDeleteThe next best thing to Bella Notte is the Horatio Hornblower series:) I have them on disc and love them all! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. The only itty bitty thing lacking is romance in most of them, though he does get married in one! Enjoy and rest!
Bless you, Kav, for that. I really wish I could be a reader new to the book ~ but guess I'd find all sorts of things to fiddle with and change.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I've arrived at my destination and have forgotten to pack a few items. Sigh. There's no place like home, truly! I should have packed the toothpaste and left the laptop behind, maybe?!
Congratulations to Nancy! Laura, hope you enjoy your time away.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Suzanne. As a mom of busy boys yourself, you know how rare time away is! Maybe that's why we are writers and artists? A way of escape amidst all the busyness and noise:)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your special time to pray and gather thoughts. Praying for you!
ReplyDeleteCarla, You are always so gracious I think you are a southerner at heart:) I've missed you and am so glad you checked in. I'm ready for another Carla post!
