new title for you!

I'm so excited to share my newest title with you this chilly Monday! The first book in
The Ballantyne Legacy series, which will release September of 2012, is...

Love's Reckoning

I'd love to know your first impressions. Aye? Nay? Dramatic? A bit dark? Romantic? Intriguing. Or not?!

Believe it or not, these were the working titles I'd chosen. I was a bit surprised that Revell kept both. That doesn't often happen. Below are the working titles and the actual published titles for my previous books:

Dogwood Winter...The Frontiersman's Daughter
Red River Daughter...Courting Morrow Little
The Colonel's Lady...The Colonel's Lady

Cover coming! If you have any cover ideas I'd love to hear those, too...

  2. Ooooh, I like it! It sounds really dramatic and powerful, lots of drama I'm sure! I'm so excited for this new series, cant wait to hear more AND see the cover!~!

  3. Ohh, I love that title! It's got a very romantic feel to it, but is also very intriguing. I can't wait for the cover!! :-D

Thanks for showing us the titles you gave your previous releases and what Revell ended up giving it. Was it kinda hard to get used to the new titles, after you'd been seeing The Frontiersman's Daughter as Dogwood Winter for so long? And the same with Courting Morrow Little and Red River Daughter?

    Just curious! :-)

  4. LOVE IT! For some reason, I was thinking it would have "Legacy" in the title even though that is in the series title. I think "Love's Reckoning" is both romantic and intriguing.

I love the picture you put with this post---books wrapped up as a gift! That's what your books are to your readers, Laura---always a delightful gift that we anticipate with such excitement!

  5. Love the title and can't wait to see the cover and read the book.

  6. (Hey, I'm first for once!)

What a great title! Very dramatic and intriguing. I'm so looking forward to this series. I know you've been working hard on it. Can't wait to see the cover. Have a superb week!

  7. Hmmm ...it reminds me of a Janette Oke title - Love Comes Softly, Love ... It seems "Love" finds it's way into so many titles it seems a bit overused. BUT!!! That's not saying I'm against it - just throwing it out there for food for thought. *jaime claps hand over mouth so she can't stuff her foot in it*

  8. Oh, Laura, I can't wait to see the cover! I guess I'll have to wait to read the book...groan. Love the title!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Love that title! And have you seen the new title for Julie's next book? I really like that change too. :)

Oooh, cover soon??? I can't wait! I hope it's as lovely as some of the pictures you've shown us for inspiration. :)

I would really just like to see a head...LOL! But it's true, a portait type cover would be so lovely for this new series. Can't wait to see what the art team dreams up!!

  10. Ruth, Happy early birthday (way, way early)! I believe you're a Sept. 21 or so baby if I'm not mistaken:) Love that our celebrations coincide. Bless you for being here and encouraging me at every turn!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Heather, So glad you like:) I think it's really dramatic, too, and I hope it's powerful. Sometimes I wish I could write "light" but I'm so not that way! I know cover art is especially meaningful to you as an artist. Can't wait to see what they've come up with. They're working on it now and it may be very different than the girl in the big gown. Which would be fine, I'm thinking:)

  12. I love the title and look forward to reading the story, Laura.

  13. Katie, Such a good question:) It IS hard making the switch to a new, out of the blue title. Kind of like having to rename your baby! Sometimes the change is better but not always. I'm so glad they renamed TFD as marketing said Dogwood Winter was too dark and readers often don't like sad themes or the darkness of winter. I had a bit of trouble adjusting to Morrow's title as it made it seem so much more of a romance when it is actually historical fiction. But that raspberry silk gown more than made up for it;)

So good to see you here! Hope your own writing and reading are going very well!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I reckon that Love's Reckoning is a fine title! ;-) Woohoo! A title means I'm one step closer to reading it!

Oh and Ruth and I share the same b-day so I'm pretty sure it would be fine if the book was released on the 21st. :-P

    XOXO~ Renee

  15. Mary, Oh, love your thoughts! I must be a blonde because it just dawned on me this morning that the pic with flower bow really does go with the gift of a new title:) Thanks for seeing that when I didn't!

Appreciate the words "romantic and intriguing." That's what I thought, too. Hope you enjoy this one very much. I did something new at the beginning of each chapter which I think you'll love, being the writer/reader/thinker you are:) Bless you for being here.

  16. Wilma, I can't wait to show you the cover, too - it even trumps the title. As of today, I don't have a clue where the design team is going with this one but Revell usually does a wonderful job. I'll post as soon as I can. Thanks so much for your comments - they add so much!

    ReplyDelete
  17. The title "Love's Reckoning" evoked excitement in my mind when I first read it. Then curiosity and intrigue. No, I do not think it too dark. Especially after I looked up the actual definition of reckoning...not just the one in my own imagination. Knowing this book will be an historical fiction only enhances the excitement of this title. Now that I have said all that, you don't feel any "pressure" do you, Laura? Because I have already read all three of your first books (two times) my opinion of the titles might not be totally spontaneous and objective; however, I do personally agree with the final titles of all three books. I was looking forward to this announcement this morning and it did not dissapoint!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Carla, You popped up in my inbox first, anyway:) I'm SO happy you like the title(s). This book was quite a challenge to write with 3 POV's though the third is minor. And it has some issues within that while historically accurate are sure to make some readers squirm! But that's half the fun of being true to history. And readers know by now they're not getting a sugar-coated read if they pick up one of my books;) Thanks so much for your comments. They make my day!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Winter, You brought Cass to mind with that hearty, "AYE!" Thanks so much. I have a feeling you're own writing is going very well. I was over at your site and it looks so nice! Plus I love the blurbs about your upcoming books. Congrats again on ALL of that recent good news!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Love's Reckoning...I like it! It makes me want to read the back cover! :-) I think my favorite of your book titles is "Courting Morrow Little" and "The Colonel's Lady". Those titles alone make you want to read the books!

    ReplyDelete
  21. LOL Jaime;) No foot insertion at all here! I know just what you're saying. There's really no "new" novel under the sun and I think there's no new titles either. There are a lot of "loves" floating around out there! This one of mine puts me in mind of Ronie Kendig's "Dead Reckoning" and also Siri Mitchell's "Love's Pursuit." They're both fairly recent.

The tricky thing with titles is that Baker incorporates 2 imprints (Revell and Bethany) which have lots of historicals releasing at the same time so I'm thinking they have to make sure none overlap title-wise in the slightest, etc. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Diana, Isn't it terrible to wait a year between books?!#$%&*!
At least we have title and cover candy till then:) I'm so thankful you're my reader! And that we have so many good historicals (and contemps) coming out now!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Casey,
Oh, like you, I'm thinking a portrait or profile of both hero and heroine with a landscape background would be nice for this one. I did send the art team Mesu Andrew's Love Amid the Ashes and the DVD cover of North&South for reference among other things. Not sure what they'll end up going with but it's fun to imagine!

YES, I really like the change to Julie's title very much. Here are some that I know of releasing next Sept 2012 with Love's Reckoning but you may know of more from other pubs...

    A Heart Surrendered/Julie Lessman
    Twice Blessed/Maggie Brendan
    With Every Letter/Sarah Sundin

Sarah was able to keep her working titles, too, and her series title is just beautiful - Wings of the Nightingale. Did I spell that right?!

Anyway, Thanks for chiming in here. You bless me!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah Laura, I love the new title!! That is soooo exciting. It sounds like a very romantic, exciting page turner! I can't wait to hear more about it and see what they come up for the cover art. How exciting, congrats!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. They kept the title! I'm glad. I'd have a hard time now calling it anything but LR. Congrats on this finally being settled. :)

Now I can't wait to see the cover.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Keli, So glad you're my reader - I'm really looking forward to being yours:) Not too much longer now. I'm celebrating with you and Carla especially as you both have releases before mine next year. God is so good!

    ReplyDelete
  27. There you are, Renee! 'Bout time you showed up;) I'm glad you like the title and want to read the book! September is a very good month for books usually! Did you know there are months that AREN'T good to release books in? I just learned that.

Anyway, we'll count down till September together! Can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mary, That means so much that you've read all my books more than once. Bless you for that. I did just waht you did when the title was official - went to the dictionary to see all the different nuances/meanings of the word "reckoning" - even though I'd thought of it. An interesting word, eh? At first I thought it might be too dark but the love softens it nicely. And this book has some weighty themes so the title works well. Oh, wish I could say more as I love all this book talk! But I'd probably give the entire plot away! Thanks so much for your thoughts here. Our minds often run along the same lines, I'm finding:)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Gwen, Oh, the marketing team would welcome your comments as that is just what they strive for - creating enticing titles that make you want to read those books:) Ditto on wanting to read the back cover copy! Here's just a peek...

"Two sisters. One man. When he chooses one, will the other destroy their love?"

Hope that makes you want to jump right in, dear Gwen!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Lori, I didn't think you'd be surprised as you've been staring at the manuscript for months now:) I would have had trouble making the leap to another title, too, as this one fits the book so well. They did try for others but this one won out. Now hoping that cover jives with the title!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Cassie, Oh, the prospect of having a page turner is quite nice! I hope it's that and more:) Love those books you can't put down. The last one I read that way was Mine is the Night by LC Higgs. But I think I'm her biggest fan!

So glad you like the title and it makes you want to read the book! Here's hoping we have lots more book talk in future. And that it's a thumbs up to another great cover! Bless you.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Laura! Love your title!!! So great!! Sounds intriguing and romantic, with a hint of adventure or suspense! Can’t wait to read it!!!

    Blessings,
    Amanda

    ReplyDelete
  33. Laura, yay!!! I am so excited for you, dear lady. I absolutely love that title. It is beautiful! It just sounds like a book that I would want to buy. Can't wait to get it!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, then I hope that cover comes to fruition!

I hadn't heard of Sarah's titles yet, but I LOVE them! I enjoy her books too. Can't wait to see what Julie's cover will be--especially since we don't knew the heroine of this new book yet.

Exciting times in the book world. Always something going on! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Amanda, YES! Love that you said adventure and suspense:) I find that I like including that in my books as it helps turn those pages! BTW, you have such a good post up about Donald M. and what you're learning on your lob. I learned something, too, so thanks for that!

I can't wait to show you the cover. Stay tuned:)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Stacey, Oh, bless your reading heart for celebrating with me!! So happy you find it appealing - just wish I could hand it over now:) But anticipation is half the wait, I guess. You sure bless me! Hope this is a good day for you and your little ones!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Casey, You and Rel and Renee are usually first to spot the great covers. If you see Julie's please give me a yell:) We'll celebrate together!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well, you'd think I could get Julie's new title right as she's such a good friend!! I stand corrected and apologize for the error...

Julie's next book is "A LOVE SURRENDERED," not "A Heart Surrendered." Though I do like both;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh Laura I love it!! It sounds so intriguing and romantic.I don't know if I'll be able to wait until September. That's so very far away!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hannah, Amen! Why do we have to wait so long!! Speaking of romantic and intruiguing, YOU live such a life! Am wondering if you're on land or sea? A little peek at FB told me the words are flowing wonderfully (more like a flood - lol!). I love when that happens!! Prayers with you all the way, no matter where you are...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Love the title, Laura! Once I follow an author, it really doesn't matter to me what they call their books. But titles are always good for intriguing new readers. This title sounds perfect for that purpose :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like it, Laura :) Mind you, the booked could be called 'Chopped Liver' and I'd still read it if your name was on the cover ;-D

    Hugs xo

    ReplyDelete
  43. Love it! I think it sounds intriguing. Can not wait to see the cover, even better...read the book. Have a blessed week!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh wow, I love it, Laura! Definitely intriguing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Renee, So glad you're here:) Your opinion really counts. I agree though - doesn't matter what a book is titled once I love an author. You are Rel are on the same page, no pun intended, with your thoughts. Fine reading minds think alike! Thanks so much. I've been thinking of you and praying about the writing...

    ReplyDelete
  46. LOL, Rel;) Love's Reckoning sounds MUCH better than chopped liver so guess we'll take it! I so appreciate your gracious words. Here's hoping the cover appeals to you - I know it's been a wish of yours, like mine, to see something a little different (well, maybe a lot) for historicals rather than the woman and pretty dress. Not long ago I had a chance to choose between 4 covers of the same book and that was pretty thrilling! It's always interesting to see what catches your eye and doesn't. Oh, how I'd love to have that happen for you here...

But I've always been a dreamer;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Colleen, You're the master at thinking up titles:) I'm still remembering yours and it's a keeper. I don't think they'll be changing that one when the time comes! Thanks for the thumbs up. I really do pray about these little things like titles and covers which may seem silly but when they're covered that way I feel better about the outcome, no matter what. Thanks so much for taking time here!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's too far away! You have the best books that I have ever read. The Frontiersman's Daughter left me breathless and lovesick at the same time. Can't wait to read Courting Morrow Little...I'm saving it since it is the only one I haven't read. I'm gonna save it for when I get into a rough patch of books.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'll take that "wow," dear Sarah:) Love that you love it! BTW, that was such a great interview you did with Patti. I'll be the first to put in a shameless plug about her here! I don't read a lot of contemp fiction but she's top of the list and I can't say enough about "Reclaiming Lily." We need more womens fiction and it's starting to pick up, per my editor at Revell and general buzz. I'd love to hear more about what you're writing, too! Anyway, thanks so much for the thumbs up! I feel blessed!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh, Acasper3, Your words are priceless! I so understand the rough patches of life and books! And I'm so thrilled you've found mine to be a blessed escape.

I'm still getting mail about Captain Jack (CJ, as I call him) so if your angst has anything to do with that, you're in fine company;) And I promise I made that up to you in Courting Morrow Little. Or tried to, dear reader...

So happy you stopped here today! I would love to see you again - and get your thoughts on Morrow's story:) Bless you as you read.

    ReplyDelete
  51. For sure. ;-) I can't wait to see it myself! And Rel must have some kind of inside scoop, she always gets them up hot off the press! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wake up this morning and the headline news on facebook is your new title! Well, on my news feed anyway :D YAY!

Ok, I will not read anyone else's comment yet so it won't taint my first impression response.

Love the title, Laura! To me it sounds strong & dramatic. I get the impression the character's feelings are going to be intense. Also sounds a bit mysterious and that there is a very intriguing story hiding behind everything. I think the hero will be very masculine :)

Can't wait to hear more about it!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I can't decide if I'm more stuck or intrigued by the word Reckoning. Webster's says its meaning is a settling of accounts. But love has no record of wrong's to reckon--OR is that the whole point--in which case I'm totally intrigued! It begs to show us an account of grace--where one is given something undeserved(usually positive); and mercy--where one is NOT given something deserved (usually negative, like punishment).
BUT, all that said, I'd read ANYTHING you wrote no matter what the title was! :o)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Can't wait to see the cover, the title's pretty cool. It's pretty cool that they kept your title

    ReplyDelete
  55. LAURA!!!
"Love's Reckoning"...I love it! And the back cover blurb is excellent. It sounds very romantic and intriguing. Oh these next few months are going to be a LOOOOOONG wait. And your covers are always so beautiful. I can't wait to see what the art team comes up with this time. Have a wonderful week. :)

    Angi

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hi Laura! I'm late to the party! I had to substitute teach today, but finally . . . here I am! : )

I love the title! Between the blurb and the title, I am very intrigued! Simply the fact that the name "Laura Frantz" will be on the cover has me intrigued. I don't need to know anything else, except the fact that YOU wrote it, lol. I'm there!! Sight unseen!! I will buy and read anything that you write. :D

I did have to look up the word reckoning though, and found this,
"the act of placing a value on the nature, character, or quality of something." Does this fall in line with what the story is about?

    Prayers and Hugs,
    Michelle

    ReplyDelete
  57. Wow, makes me wonder about what the reckoning is going to be. Nice contrast in the words. Congrats and thanks for sharing. We'll all be waiting patiently for your next release!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh Helen, your thoughts are right on target and make me smile:) YES to the dramatic element and those intense feelings. My editor, while reading, was getting more and more angst-ridden even though she knew the ending, she said:) My hero is different in this one but very masculine like you said - and driven. I should conduct a hero poll and see which hero has won hearts so far...:)

Love your first impressions as to the title. You're spot on which makes me feel the title is truly right for the book. I can't wait for you to read! And pray you like it as much as the others. There's not an Indian in sight! And no frontiersmen to speak of. But I peopled it with some interesting characters, or so I hope, that kind of walked on stage and took over...

Hope you and your girls are all well and have a good day today. Thanks so much for taking time here!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anne, You are a deep thinker:) And your reaction to the word "reckoning" is right on. It seems an odd pairing with love and in this novel it truly is a settling of accounts on several levels. How's that for intrigue? Love how you remind us that love keeps no record of wrongs. That in itself provides a great deal of conflict within the pages... But no spoilers for you, dear reading friend!

Thanks so much for your thoughts and gracious words. They mean a lot!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Carissa, So glad the title appeals to you. And I must admit I'm as surprised as you they kept my title, too. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at these titling meetings as all those ideas fly around! I might even like one of theirs more than mine though I'd never know unless they gave me a list. An author friend of mine is so clever with titles she presents a long list of them for each book and so far her pub has used hers every time. Oh, to be that clever!

Hope you're having a beautiful KY day there. In years past we've spent Thanksgiving holiday hiking up the Pinnacle in Madison Co (Boone's old stomping grounds). The color is always so beautiful. Anyway, thinking of you today:)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Angi, You made it!! So thrilled you've outfoxed Blogger:) If only I could do the same! I'm beyond thrilled you like the look of this next book. It has some twists and turns that may leave some readers howling but hey, writer's perogative, right?

Like you, I'm anxious to see how the art team handles this one. I have high hopes and they've never disappointed yet, thankfully. As soon as I get the green light, I'll share. Can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Michelle, Better late than never, truly:) You are one busy teacher! I wonder if that will ease up over the holidays or you'll be more needed than ever? Hope you have time for all that holiday baking:)

I like your definition but the reckoning in this case is slightly more ominous and means a settling of accounts or dealing with past mistakes or misdeeds. And it deals with issues of the heart:)

I wish I could take creadit for the blurb. That's Lorna Seilstad's doing as she's a master at those! Often her blurbs are used as back cover copy for her own books which is a high compliment. So I was thrilled when she jumped in and came up with this one for mine. It would have taken me a 100 years...

So thankful for your encouragement and being there for me. It means more than I can say!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Carrie, Now that it's been mentioned by you and others, I do like the contrast in the two words:) Bring on September, as Ruth said! I have a feeling lots will be happening between now and then and I hope to have good book news of yours to look forward to, too!

    ReplyDelete
  64. You're quite welcome, Laura! Thanks for clearing things up for me on "reckoning." : )

And how neat to know that Lorna Seilstad wrote the blurb for your book. A fun little trivia fact. : )

    Have a wonderful Tuesday!
    Love,
    Michelle

    ReplyDelete
  65. Reckoning . . . sounds ominous! But if love does the reckoning, then it MUST come out right in the end. I love that about your books. All that turmoil comes out the way it should. (I have a bit of The Colonel's Lady left to go--it better come out right!)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sarah, Oh, you'll have to tell me if you think it does! I'm talking about TCL, anyway:) I added an epilogue on that one to assure readers all was well. Some books just need that little oomph...

Yes, the reckoning in this case is a bit ominous. I dealt with some weighty historical issues in this one. I hadn't planned on some of the things that emerged but they appeared and seemed to work so I went with it after a great deal of prayer and thought. One thing about my books is that faithful readers know by now that I don't sugarcoat history so read with caution! And they just might enjoy it;) Or so I always hope...

Here's hoping you have your feet up after a hard day's work, dear Sarah. I bet you could tell some funny stories about those precious kids. Somehow that has just got to work itself into one of your books...:)

Would love to hear your thoughts on TCL when you're done though I have a feeling TFD is first in your heart!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Miss Laura the title sounds really exciting!! romantic and kind of mysterious to me, like who will end up with who?! I like it!
I was wondering, will this series be the kind that each book talks about a different character, or will be the kind that if you want to know what will happen to the heroine or hero I'll have to read the next book? either way I know it will be great!
I'll be waiting for the book cover! I'm really excited to see it!
Hope you have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Evelyn, Oh, welcome to my blog! Your comments are "right on"! The entire novel is about who will end up with who:) And it does include some radical twists and turns with the happy ending readers deserve as well as a cliffhanger. How's that for mysterious?

Bless you for your wonderful comments. I peeked and see that you're from Spain! That is dear to my heart though I was last in Madrid years ago. I'm heading to Granada as soon as I can to see my brother and family in Granada. Anyway, thanks so much for coming by and I hope we meet up again:)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks to all for the wonderful comments - your encouragement and suppport leave me wordless! Quite a feat for this long winded author;)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Okay, pronunciation question: Is it pronounced "Ballan-teen" or "Ballan-tine"?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi Erin:) Good question as there's sure to be some befuddlement over it - Ballen-TINE. This is an old Scots name which is rarely heard of here. I like it much better than my original name of Gallatin which is even harder to pronounce...

Hope you're having a colorful fall day in KY. We're expecting a bit of snow here!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hello My Dear Friend,

Sorry I am late to the unveiling of your wonderful title Love's Reckoning! From the brief description, I would say it is a perfect title! Romantic and intriguing, a perfect combo! I have an idea that the book cover should have the gentleman in front crossing his arms with his legs apart and the two women in the background a bit blurred. I would love to be a part photographing book covers! That would be fun!!

I have to tell you that I am moving hospitals. My other hospital overstaffed so they are sending some of us to other facilities in the Health System. I am so excited! I will be working in Women's Health. Which means moms and babies and other health issues women might have. It is only 8hr shifts too! The Lord is so good to me!! :)

    Love,
    Stacie

    ReplyDelete
  73. STACIE! I've been waiting for you!! So happy you're here but understand how busy you must be with work, school, holiday stuff, etc! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments as they always add so much.

First, HUGE congrats on your hospital move!!!! Love that you're exxcited and it's a great move! I sense your excitment and know the Lord has good things in store. I think working in Women's Health would be right up your alley. And babies!! Being a big baby fan, I can completely relate to that perk, too:) Can't wait to hear how it's going when you get settled. You're so right - the Lord is so good! He had a tailor made place for you all along:)

And thanks so much for the thumbs up on the title - LOVE your cover idea!! I keep running different cover scenarios through my mind and can't imagine what the art team will go with. We should know soon however...

Prayers with you today! It snowed here last night and the world is wrapped in white. Beautiful and brrrr....cold!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm smiling that you would share such delightful details about your books...with us. What a treat! And a new book coming out in Sept. of next year. I love it....big smile here. Love's Reckoning sounds intriguing, yes. And wonderful. I'll be looking forward to it! warm wishes for a happy tomorrow...Maggie Ann

    ReplyDelete
  75. Maggie Ann, Oh, so glad you're here! I was missing you and Stacie and now you've both arrived:) Am thankful you like the title and sound of the book. Hopefully you'll (and other readers) will like the cover, too. Just yesterday I heard from the art team who is searching for a model in her 20's to match my protagonist. Trouble is it might be a long search as she has the most glorious red hair! I could go on and on with this book talk but don't want to give too much away. Oh, but that I could...!

I heard you had a little snow your way which made me smile as we did, too. Can't get enough of the white stuff. So much better than the rain. I was ready to write a snow scene in this current work then remembered I'm in the throes of June, 1822! Still hoping to sneak it in by book's end...

Thanks so much for the gracious comments. They always bless me.

  76. Laura, where is the "brief description" of the book some commentors are mentioning? Was it part of this post? If so, it doesn't show up on Firefox.

  77. Good question, Lori - thanks. No official blurb is out there yet. I think readers here are referring to the one Lorna Seilstad created for me -

Two sisters. One man. When he chooses one will the other destroy their love?

Will be interesting to see if Revell incorporates this as it's the essence of the book, at least the first part! As you know;)

  78. Oh Margaret! YES!! Book titles are the best, next to book covers, anyway;) And then there's the actual book!

You've made my day by being here and also showing that the book is actually up on Goodreads and OFFICIAL:) That means so much. Your love of historical fiction shines through and I'm one of your biggest fans!

  79. It sounds super dramatic. So of course I love it! I hope the publisher does similar titles for the remainder of the series. Something like Love's Reckoning, Love's Journey, and Love's Haven. If you get my drift . . . :)

  80. Naomi, So glad to see you here:) I wish we'd had more time to visit in St. Lou but that was one crazy, busy conference!

I do get your drift! I was hoping for the same thing myself. I've tentatively titled this second book in the series, Love's Awakening, but that might sound too much like a Janette Oke title si it may not fly. Happy you think Love's Reckoning sounds super dramatic. That's what I'd hoped! It really is:)

I was thinking the other day of friends with releases coming out soon and you're up in April, if I remember correctly. Can't wait!!
