I returned a mere 24 hours ago to some wonderful pics of readers and shelf-sightings and thought I'd post a few here. Coming home to these blessed me beyond telling:) There's so much I have to say but will need a couple of days to tame my laundry and email, organize my men, and all the rest. Will be working on a post about Philly and Pittsburgh with pictures to post in a few days. Suffice it to say, the Lord delighted me at every turn! And I can't wait to share with you here.
If you'd like to send a pic of you with The Colonel's Lady, I'd be thrilled! Or if you're feeling camera shy like I usually am, please send one of the book:) Just email me at lauran@tfon.com. I'll try to post them all in the weeks to come and we'll begin the blog launch and giveaways August 1.
Bless you all!
Hi Laura! Those are some great pics! I know as soon as I got my copy of The Colonel's Lady I got right to reading it and of course I loved it. :-) I'm so glad you had a nice time visiting my corner of the world, I look forward to seeing those pics.
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee C.
Aw, thank you, Laura! That's so sweet for you to post the pics and I quickly forgave Colonel McLinn for being a redhead. I fell in love with him right along with Roxanna!;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Laura! Thanks for sharing the fun photos.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing about your travels.
I received mine last week and I set everything else aside, including the book I was already reading, just so I could read it! I loved it.
ReplyDelete2 Kids and Tired Books
Welcome back, Laura! You were missed!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could have seen the look on my face when I saw TCL in Lifeway last Friday night. My jaw actually dropped, lol. I wasn't expecting it.
Loved every single moment of reading it. :)

ReplyDeleteHugs,
Michelle

ReplyDeleteSO GlAD YOU MADE IT BACK!!
ReplyDeleteI've so missed your blog posts and FB messages. :) (BTW, are you still on twitter?? Can't seem to find you...)
Anyway, finished Roxanna's story last night. Laura...goodness gracious!! So, so good! I had to make a trip with the fam and read the way and back and it made the time go by so fast!
You've crafted again another beautiful story and my heart is too full at the moment from reading it to do it proper justice.
I'll get a pic to you soon! I intended to do that, but kept forgetting. :)
So fun to see Diana up there! Winners from Overcoming Through Time blog should have their's coming in the mail through Amazon now - I got notifications. Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, looking forward to reading about your trip. Loved, loved loved The Colonel's Lady. You have outdone yourself : )
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Laura. I brought TCL last weekend at Family Christian store I couldn't wait to read it, so far its awasome.
ReplyDeleteYAY, Laura, you're home!!! I'm so happy you had a fun time and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it once you're settled! These pics are great and RENNE ANN - your skin is flawless, I'm so jealous! ;)
ReplyDeleteLaura, I finished TCL on Thursday and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I'm hoping to have a review up within the next few days, I just hope I can do it justice!! Thank you again for your sweet surprise :)
God bless you, dear friend, and I will talk to you soon!!
Blessings,
Amanda
Yay!!! And so glad you had a great trip!! Can't wait to hear more about it. The Colonel's Lady arrived in my Friday mail and I hope to start it tomorrow, can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteRenee, Funny that you'd be here first as I was just in your backyard, so to speak, like you mention;) And thanks a million for your wonderful review. Now that was a gift to come back to! I treasure my readers and am so thankful you're one of them. I'm chomping at the bit to post that pic of Coco and Roxie:) Stay tuned...
ReplyDeleteI'm still smitten myself, Diana:) Move over Red Shirt!! Well, on second thought...
ReplyDeleteAren't godly heroes the best? It took awhile for him to come round but he was deliciously redeemable, like you've alluded to here. Bless you for reading the book and coming over to share your thoughts. I know I've said it before but I'll say it again - you're a gem!
Keli,
ReplyDeleteSo good to see you here:) Funny thing but I've been combing through my 500 photos and also the group photographer's photos - about 2,000 more, trying to capture the best without boring folks to death. The best thing about this tour was that it consisted of Christians and history lovers - a blessed combo!
BTW, am hoping you are still planning to attend ACFW in costume. I'd love to hear more about that...
Oh Holly, Wow - another book got bumped so you could read TCL. That's quite an honor!! Bless you for that. I'm so thankful you enjoyed it. Many thanks for making time as I know you are busy and it's not easy to find reading time. Please consider yourself entered in the drawings for August - I'll have more than books up for giveaways and am so happy to add your name to the pot! Your gracious words will stay with me:)
ReplyDeleteMichelle, Oh, wish I could have seen your face, indeed!! I was flying home Friday nite but would have loved to have stopped over in a Lex. Lifeway;) So happy to know they're carrying it as we authors sometimes aren't savvy as to just where our books are.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm beyond thrilled that you loved it!! Every single moment. That says so much. Oh, my day is made coming back to these comments. More my month! Bless you so much!
Oh, back to back Michelles! Though I know who you are just by the tone of your comments:) So happy to be back and amongst reading friends again! Hope the upcoming posts convey what a blessing it was to get away. Thanks so much for being here!
ReplyDeleteRenee Ann, Love that these pics were waiting for me when I returned. That other book in your hand looks pretty interesting as well. I get the best reading tips from you all! And I saw a gazillion books in various airports as I traveled. Plus I picked up some great history books during my rambles. Anyway, hope the Philly and Pitt posts entertain you. I'm still thinking of all I learned and saw...
ReplyDeleteRel, Hoping Roxie arrives for you soon! Am wondering if it's coming straight from Revell of somewhere else? I can never remember these things!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy we're starting off together on August 1. I'll be sure to include a link about that so readers can go over. Your spotlights are always so much fun and so well done!
Heather,
ReplyDeleteI thought of you as I flew over from Dallas;) Hope you are cooler there! My heart goes out to those who are caught in that heatwave. It was about 100 degrees in Philly when I arrived and then cooled down. Anyway, I remember you won that book over at CQ! You should see it any day now! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts when done. It's quite a bit different than my other 2. But maybe I always say that?!
Casey, So glad to be missed!! Mutual, I must say:) And your words are so appreciated - your "heart is full." That means more than this writer can say. One never knows how a story will go over. All I know is that I loved creating it and am still thinking about it, too.
ReplyDeleteI must confess that I killed my Twitter account some time ago (but Revell forgot to remove the info). I wanted to spend more time on the blog and so had to let some things go. Thanks so much for reading and giving me a blessing in return. Glad you're home safe. Counting down to ACFW with you - have a hug with your name on it!
Carrie, I wanted to buzz down to CW and Yorktown and see you. Philly history seems to tied to your area, partly because of George W and Thomas J and Edmund Randolph (my new hero:).
ReplyDeleteBless you for all the giveawways and promo you do!! It means more than I can say!
Colleen, Loved, loved, loved reading your review:) Thanks for that in spades. And can't wait to see you in September!! I suppose we should begin the official countdown. Only I want to make sure we get to sit together at the banquet this year! Oh, so many hopes and plans... Bless you for being here.
ReplyDeleteCarissa, Can't wait to post your pics of the book:) You sure made me smile with those!! Thanks a million. I'd love to hear your thoughts when you're done. I've been thinking of asking readers what their favorite scene(s) was/were. I certainly have my own;) Hope you're having a good weekend and getting lots of good reading time in!
ReplyDeleteAmanda, Oh, I was so hoping you'd enjoy it as I know CML was dear to you (and me!). My rascally colonel is a bit of a switch but he does come round...
ReplyDeleteI thank you and everyone for prayers as I traveled. Strangely enough, I never felt tired. And all those planes behaved! Even the 8 seater!
Bless you for thinking of doing a review. I know things have been hectic for you and you don't need to worry about that. I treasure the pic you sent and can't wait to post! Thanks so much for everything you do.
Julia,
ReplyDeleteHope July went especially well for you, C, and the littles. Am so happy TCL arrived - hope you have some reading time in the midst of everything and it takes you away!! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Prayers with you!
YAY! I hope I will be getting mine soon. Why do some bookstores have it earlier than others, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about having get you laundry under control now that you are home. My laundry is still not caught up from our vacation in early June!
Can't wait to hear more about your exciting trip!
Mary, NO kidding, but I thought of you yesterday and wondered if you'd gotten yours yet:) Like you, I don't have a clue where those books are! One of the mysteries of publishing. That's why it's such a delight to see these pics show up and have readers tell me;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a good July and it's not too hot there. In Philly it was quite warm but I loved it all, even the humidity. When I left I sat beside a man who said the heat index was 124 in Baltimore!
Anyway, hope you have some reading time. Please let me know when Roxie arrives!!
Speaking of favorite scenes . . . I'm on page 194, and LOVING the entire book, but I must say . . . pages 152 and 153! Oh my! Be still my heart! My heart was racing a bit there. :D
ReplyDeleteOH MICHELLE!! I jumped up and ran into my little library to snatch up my copy and see those pages;) OH YES... So happy that made your heart beat a bit faster. It was supposed to!! How you've made me smile, dear friend!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a JOY to think of you reading. Another reader just contacted me yesterday and said the ribbon scene was her favorite. So you have a twin out there!
I missed you while I was away and am so glad to connect here again!! Happy reading, dear Michelle!
So glad I could bring a smile to your face, Laura! The ribbon scene, indeed!! It may be safe to say that MANY enjoy that scene. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm about half way through the book now, trying not to devour it too quickly. It is such a JOY to read your writing, Laura! Happy reading, indeed. : )
Hugs,
Michelle
