Lady in the Mist

Our winner of Lady in the Mist by Laurie Alice Eakes is...

Amanda!

Happy reading, Amanda! Please confirm your snail mail address at lauran@tfon.com and I'll mail the book and a bookmark out to you:).

Hope you'll join me here next week as I post about my latest "underpinnings" for my 18th-century wardrobe. I'd also love to give away an Amazon gift card and host a discussion about book clubs and discussion questions. Till then...

Bless you all!

And thanks for posting the book trailer, Laura. It makes me want to read Lady in the Mist even more. Might have to start it soon.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Laura, will you be wearing stays? If so, I'd like to know what they feel like all laced up. Adjectives welcome. :) This is research!

Congrats to Amanda. I need to get this book soon.

  3. Michelle, You are so gracious - thank you. I'm becoming a big fan of book trailers as they really do add to the anticipation of the story. Happy reading to you - maybe you'll find a patch of Kentucky sunlight to relax in:)

  4. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Oh, Laura, you made my day!!! I can't believe I won??! I'm so excited to read this book, thank you for giving me the opportunity :) Just sent you an email!

And I really like the trailer, too! Some are done so well and really pull you into the story and make you anticipate it more, like you said. Have you ever thought about doing a trailer for your books? Oh, I would love that!

Anyway, thanks again for sending me Lady in the Mist!! Praying you have a beautiful day, dear friend :)

Oh, and thanks Michelle! Hope you get to start it soon as it looks like a wonderful read :)

    Blessings,
    Amanda

  5. Amanda, Soooo happy to be sending you a book:) I sense you really want to read this one which makes it all the merrier! Nothing like a book in the mail...

Love your enthusiasm and thanks so much for your faithful presence here. It sure makes a difference to me and others. Fun to think you and Michelle might be reading this book together:)

I'll send you an email later. Off to get your book in the mail, my friend! Bless you!

  6. Lori,
I hope Mary reads this as I haven't ordered my stays yet. She could elaborate so beautifully! She did tell me in a recent email that they take some getting used to. I can just imagine. You are so right - this IS research, hands-on all the way! And it's fun to share the discoveries between us.

I imagine your new heroine in your current WIP will be wearing them based on what you said in group. Can't wait to meet her! I dearly love her name...

Thanks for the congrats to Amanda. Laurie Alice is such an amazing person. Some of you probably read Casey's interview of her (and interviews other places) in which she talks about her disability (she's legally blind). Laurie Alice isn't able to see this book trailer of hers but her vision issues sure didn't slow her down in the writing of this book.

    Happy writing, Lori!

  8. That's so neat about another Randy and Laura :). I love those little God things. One not so proud connection we have is a relative hung for treason during the revolution...

  10. I enjoyed viewing that trailer, Laura. And guess what I picked up at the Christian bookstore this morning? I braved bone-chilling cold and icy sidewalks so I could nip in and pick up a copy Lady in the Mist (among a few others). I've been hearing so many good things about this book, I just have to read it. Can't wait to get started.

  11. Mary,
I'd so love to join you and Adam for that evening!! Do they/you ever offer audio/CD's of your presentations? I'd love to hear the petticoat discussion! You've certainly educated me on that! Not to mention many other things:)

Thanks so much for stopping by here. I think it helps get the word out. I have several thousand readers reading here each month per stats (which I never paid attention to till recently as numbers are not my thing) so it's wonderful to keep current with what you're doing! I doubt you need the extra publicity but I just love when you stop by and take time for readers here.

So enjoyed your last blog post - but then, I love them all:) Bless you.

  12. Julia, That little treasonous fact is dear to my heart as I've been researching that heavily and it comes into major play in one of my upcoming books. But no spoilers here as I don't want to ruin it for you! I'd love to know more of that story of yours! So fascinating to me... Thank you for sharing that.

  13. Kav, I admire your intrepid reading spirit:) This book will sweep you away to the Virginia shore and you'll forget all about that long Canadian winter! I've certainly managed to ignore the rain for a few days here only the book made me more homesick. So good to see you! You've been missed:)

  14. Thanks ladies! :)

Yes, Laura, I am REALLY want to read this!! Happy you could sense that, LOL ;) But, WOW, I had no idea Laurie Alice is legally blind. What an inspiring woman. Its amazing what God can do with a heart thats willing. This will be my first book of hers and now I'm looking forward to it even more! Thank you again for sending it out so fast :)

    Blessings to all!
    Amanda

  16. Mandy, So good to see you here:) I'm so glad you're enjoying Laurie Alice's book! She has a wonderful way of describing things, such as "she melted like butter left too long by the hearth" (not sure if that is a direct paraphrase but it's how I remember it). It's so nice to escape to the Virginia shore in mid-winter through this beautiful book! Happy reading to you!

  17. Mary,
I'm so glad you're joining us here when you can! I can certainly understand why no taping is allowed as that can be so distracting, not to mention period inappropriate. I'm so eager to hear all you have to say about anything you're doing here and at your blog. I find is so fascinating and have since childhood - since I'm nearing the half-century mark I don't think that's going to change!

I'll be sure to stay tuned for future posts from you. I love the story of how you and Adam "courted" and then married. Sadly, I am unable to listen to the music as my computer won't let me but I'm working on that.

Can't wait to hear more about your upcoming presentation! Bless you so much!
