I checked recently to see when Love's Reckoning would be released... and it has a while, but I am so looking forward to it. I rarely read fiction novels any longer so yours will be a definite treat. Must be fun to be a part of a book club, especially when a favorite authors pays a visit!! :)

And, thank you for today's "Promises" post. I needed that right now. The promises of our Lord truly are our "everyday sources of comfort." A promise I've been clinging to lately is Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all." Amen. Jesus keeps His promises and He has never failed us before. Good and faithful is our God!

Thank you again, dear Laura! It is very sweet. SO SWEET! Did I mention SWEET? :) We are on Chapter 5 and we are reading a chapter a day. I made up questions for them to answer and words to go over for vocabulary. The illustrations are cute and well done. The bunny, Jeremy, is just so adorable. I love the message at the end of the book. So meaningful! I figure when all is quiet all is well. It's good to be back from spring break though we had a very quiet Easter. I think small groups are great and I imagine how much fun and how encouraging it is to meet with young moms like yourself. I so wish I could come to Minnesota and talk books with you all:) If I ever get to travel more, I'd love to do that. You have such a beautiful state. My first serious crush/boyfriend went to Bemidji U. (am I spelling that right?) and was from there. But that's ancient hx, I guess. Strangely enough, he moved to Washington State and I ran into him not long ago!

I really understand how hard it is to read (or write or do anything consistently) when your kids are young. I managed to read a lot while nursing my boys but when they got legs I spent all my time running after them. And you have twins!! I chuckled at your descip. of them on your blog(s). They're so precious. And so very different! Thank heavens for naps, huh?

Love your thoughts on Morrow. I've come across so many who like that story best. And I'm honored by that as it was a real labor of love to write and had a part of my heart in it that no other story has. Hard to explain. Hope your sis loves it as much as you!! And hope that new nephew of yours is doing well - babies beat books by a mile, I always say:)Laura Frantzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07067252948999879024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2607797015497924515.post-34597305558595219202012-04-10T10:07:20.504-07:002012-04-10T10:07:20.504-07:00Michelle, I'm thrilled you're ready to rea...Michelle, I'm thrilled you're ready to read LR! Hope it's a keeper book for you. I really am attached to this story in so many ways and pray it's a blessing. Not too much longer:)

OH YES! Cathy's new book sounds great and I've been hearing a lot of buzz about it. I'm so glad you mentioned it so Mary and others might take a look, too. I downloaded the first few pages on my Kindle and really want to order after reading them. Now for the time to do it! I think the both of us are so interested in that Titanic history/anniversary. I've not read Julie's latest but love the cover. Would love to know what you're reading next!!

Oh, am chuckling about your Panera sharing - lol;) If you could have seen me scouting for one on the way to Oregon and back! And then we flew by one at a mall and couldn't find an exit so am afraid it was Arby's and Olive Garden for us. Not a bad exchange, however! Eat some Panera's quiche and have some coffee for me. I'd love to meet up with you and your friend there - or join you before Bible study! Love your thoughts about CJ and Ian. And no, I wouldn't dare tell you;)

I'll have to come by your blog and thumbs up that giveaway. I'm sure you'll have a few wanting to read. It's such a powerful story in light of it being Francine's testimony and making a break from writing for the secular market. No wonder it continues to grace bestseller lists for years and years. She's a wonderful writer.

Thanks so much for your prayers as this book goes to print. One of my endorsers called me yesterday to tell me she'd finished reading and to talk about the book. I hope readers enjoy it as much as she did. I miss those characters and wish I could return to that world. If you lived closer I might well slip you the pages! Strange that no one sees them but me and my editors and they just sit there waiting to be read...

You're right - we're surrounded by so much that is so similar to Oregon. We did have a great time and I'm so thankful. When we were first married - well, about 10 years in fact - we never took a true trip or vacation. So everytime we get out even on an overnighter it's a real treat! And now that the boys are big enough to leave home it's even more relaxing. They usually don't want to go with us old folks, anyway!

Love your book club questions. Believe it or not, they've just read Courting Morrow Little and The Colonel's Lady and also The Hunger Games. I felt in pretty good company! I'm not sure what's on tap for them next and wish I'd asked. They asked me for favorite authors of mine and that was fun to share.

I hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Easter, too. I can just imagine the JOY of having your little one hunting for eggs or getting a taste of all that Easter is. You have an amazing group of blog followers. :) The book club looks like so much fun! I have a small group in comparison (there are just four of us) and we read sporadically around having children (each of us has four children under the age of 7!) - but you would be at the top of my list for visiting authors. I wish Washington and Minnesota were closer...

I just finished Julie Klassen's "The Maid of Fairbourne Hall" and loved it. It wasn't my favorite of Julie's, but the last third of it I couldn't put down and finished it in a rare afternoon when the girls were at school and the boys were napping. It's the first book I've read since picking up my manuscript again in January and I realized I need to be reading more (I used to read a couple books a month!) - there is just so little time in the day to accomplish writing, blogging, reading and the rest of my life!

My sister called to tell me she just picked up "Courting Morrow Little" and asked me if I liked it better than "The Colonel's Lady" and I had to tell her that there is no comparison. Although, I love how emotionally entrenched I get with your characters and, for some reason, I felt more connected with Morrow. I can't wait until she finishes it so her and I can chat about it - talking books is so much fun.Gabrielle Meyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12479898337766911768noreply@blogger.com
